Gatorfoam (or foamcore) is a new alternative to a photo mosaic canvas or picture frame. Gatorfoam allows you to hang your breathtaking mosaic on the wall. It is the lower-cost alternative to other products such as Acrylglas or Alu-Dibond. Therefore, it is widely used to present art and archival documents in museums or gallaries.

We print your mosaic to professional paper (no direct printing), protect the print with a laminate (matte or glossy option) and then add floating blocks and hanging hardware that allows you to get that modern floating look with an easy no tools required hang system.

Light, solid and safe

Your Gatorfoam photo mosaic is very light while remaining tough and solid. Therefore, it is much safer than to hang your photo mosaic in a picture frame. In case the picture frame falls of the wall, it’s weight and glass may cause severe damages. Also gatorfoam can cause damages, but not as severe as a framed photo mosaic in a picture frame made of glass.

Your Gatorfoam mosaic is delivered ready to hang. ¾” spacers are inserted so that your mosaic sits parallel with the wall.

Gatorfoam is a plastic and the plate is ¾” thick. The plastic is dyed black for a smart and stylish accent. After your photo mosaic has been produced on high-gloss photo paper, a further process is used to apply it to the plate.

The PDF and JPG print version can be ordered as an accessory. This will then be made available via e-mail immediately after receipt of payment and can be used as a prepaid gift, for example. You also have the possibility to present the mosaic digitally on a beamer, which is often used for weddings.

Production and delivery times of the photo mosaic

Due to the multi-stage production process, the production times for gatorfoam prints are 5-6 working days after receipt of payment. Express delivery can also be added. For delivery, the mosaic is packed in bubble wrap and provided with a side protection.
